It has been a tremendous season, and we want to thank all of our members for being a part of it. The course has seen a high level of play, and we appreciate the support and positive feedback throughout the season.
As we move into the coming weeks, our maintenance team will transition to what we call “project mode.” In past years, this has typically involved large-scale renovations or course improvements. While we don’t have major projects scheduled this season, this shift is still an important part of maintaining the quality and playability of the golf course.
Project mode allows our team to focus on smaller, detail-oriented improvements that are easy to overlook during the busy season. This includes raising and leveling drains, valve boxes, and sprinkler heads that may have settled over time due to natural ground movement, topdressing, and regular wear.
Addressing these items is critical not only for aesthetics but also for safety, drainage efficiency, and irrigation performance. Ensuring that these components are properly set at grade helps prevent water buildup, improves turf health, and provides a more consistent playing surface.
In addition, we will have our three normal course closures for cultural practices:
Closure I
June 22
CLOSE AT NOON
Re-open July 1
Closure II
August 3
CLOSE AT NOON
Re-open August 12
Closure III
September 21
CLOSE AT NOON
Re-open September 26
These closures allow us to complete essential practices such as heavy vertical mowing, aerifying, and topdressing of the tees, fairways, and greens. These practices are critical for relieving compaction, improving soil health, and promoting strong, consistent turf conditions throughout the year.
By dedicating time to these projects now, we are proactively maintaining course conditions and preventing larger issues down the road. We appreciate your understanding, as you may see our team working in various areas of the course.
